About
us
After a series of frustrating family
holidays and festivals spent in an average nylon tent, we decided there
had to be a better alternative. Then we saw it, our first comfy, curvaceous
yurt and fell in love. The experience of building and using our own
hand-built 16 foot yurt, and the feedback from family and friends,
inspired us to create more. The original prototype yurt has been
updated since then but the satisfaction of using our craftsmanship
to produce these beautiful, ethnic structures remains.

Jeremy and Fabian Daffern

|

Jeremy trained as a cabinet maker, specialising
in furniture restoration and achieved a British Antiques Dealers Association
diploma with distinction, the most prestigious in the craft. He also
discovered he had a particular flair for gilding and has worked on the
restoration of many old and intricate artefacts over the last ten years.
A career’s worth of meticulous attention
to detail, an innate understanding of wood and long hours of patient
co-ordination of hand and eye is now reflected in the superb construction
standard of theroundhouse hand-crafted yurts.
Fabian, Jeremy’s
brother and partner in theroundhouse, comes from a business background
dealing in antiques and pianos. Together they take their knowledge of
what turns a yurt from a makeshift tent into a thing of beauty and practical
style and pass it on to an appreciative buyer with the highest possible
standards of customer care and efficient service.
